Ocean-going shaft generator system usually works in power generation mode, the main engine drives the shaft generator to supply powerto the ship power station. The speed of a ship’s main engine and the corresponding shaft generator varies constantly according to ship’sspeed and sea state, while the ship power station needs to maintain constant voltage and frequency. Using a converter, shaft generator system can output constant frequency and voltage power at variable speed input.
